Interactive Monthly Surf Conditions

By switching between months, you can visually compare how average wave heights and swell consistency shift across different coastlines and oceans. This interactive tool makes it incredibly easy to pinpoint the peak surf seasons for any region on Earth.

Understanding the Spot Ratings & Colors

To make your search as intuitive as possible, every surf spot on the map is color-coded according to its overall surf condition rating for the selected month. The rating algorithm combines wave size, period, and wind conditions.

  • Blue / Dark Green (Epic & Excellent): Peak season! High consistency, solid wave heights, and favorable wind patterns.
  • Light Green / Yellow (Good & Fair): Transitional seasons or moderate consistency. You will catch waves, but it might not be firing every single day.
  • Orange / Red (Poor): Off-season. Generally flat, blown out, or highly inconsistent conditions.

Tip: You can expand the legend in the top-left corner of the map for a detailed breakdown of the rating colors.
