Best Surf Season (March - May)

The transition through autumn is when Injidup Carpark really comes alive. The Southern Ocean storm track remains active while the subtropical high drifts south over the Bight, setting up a classic recipe for this west-northwest facing break. Average swells sit between 6-8ft (1.8-2.4m) with long 12-13s periods, and offshore E to SSE breezes blow on 20-28% of days. This is the sweet spot: enough west energy in the water to wrap into the reefs, but a far cleaner wind regime than winter can offer.

Fair Surf Season (June - October)

Winter and early spring see the Indian Ocean roar to life, and the average swell heights jump to 8-9ft (2.4-2.8m) with periods over 13s. However, the very same Southern Ocean lows that generate this power also drag W and NW winds across the coast - the cardinal directions that ruin the surface at this exposed spot. Ideal wind percentages drop to 17-19%, so surfers spend a lot of time watching lumpy, storm-battered sets. When a high pressure ridge sets in and the wind swings offshore, the result can be world-class, but you have to pick your windows carefully.

Low Surf Season (November - February)

Through late spring and summer, the low-pressure systems retreat toward Antarctica and the swell machine powers down. Average wave heights settle back to around 6ft (1.8m), periods shorten to 11-12s, and ideal wind frequency hits its annual floor at 15-17%. The region sits under broad subtropical high pressure, producing warm, dry days and morning offshore ESE/SE breezes. It is still worth a paddle, but the true size and power that define Injidup are much less consistent in these months.
