Average swell heights climb from 1.4m (4.6ft) in summer to a peak of 1.7m (5.6ft) in August and September, while swell periods lengthen to 12.5-12.9s, signaling a rise in clean, long-period groundswell. Critically, the chance of offshore winds from the north quadrant also peaks during these months, with ideal wind percentages reaching 21-24%.
