Best Surf Season (November - March)

For a swell-starved, south-facing beach like Cabo de San Antonio, winter is the most reliable window for rideable surf. The North Atlantic storm track becomes more active, and although the cape is not in the direct firing line for classic open-ocean groundswell, the average wave height climbs to 3-4ft (1.1-1.2m) from November through March. Wave periods hover in the 6.3-6.7s range, enough for punchy, rideable waves, while offshore N/NNE/NE/NNW windows appear more regularly than at any other time of year. That makes November through March the stretch when the cape most often has some form of surfable, semi-organized swell.
