Bozo seasonal overview
Best Surf Season (October - March)
The North Atlantic roars back to life in October, and Bozo's best surf window runs through March. During this stretch, average wave heights sit at 1.2-1.6m (4-6ft) with periods of 9.0-9.4s, driven by extratropical storms and cold fronts tracking across the western Atlantic. The beach's NNE orientation is perfectly positioned to reel in N, NNE, NE and NNW swell, and when the wind direction swings into the S/SSW/SW offshore quadrant, the breaks can get genuinely hollow. The trades never stop blowing completely, so clean windows remain the exception rather than the rule.
Fair Surf Season (April, May, September)
As the storm track pulls north in April, Bozo transitions into a smaller, tamer rhythm. Average height slips to 1.2-1.3m (4ft), periods drop to 8.1-8.9s, and ENE/E components start to dominate. May can still offer playful, rippable waves and the cleanest wind percentages of late spring, while September marks the first real recharging of the Atlantic - a good month to be opportunistic as the first cold fronts begin to dip south.
Low Surf Season (June - August)
Summer is Bozo's quiet season. June through August averages just 1.1-1.2m (3-4ft) with periods of 7.2-7.4s, dominated by pure E/ENE trade windswell. With the ESE/E trades blowing cross-onshore for most of the summer, the surface is often messy and the swell lacks the period to wrap cleanly into the NNE-facing shore. Tropical waves and hurricanes can occasionally disrupt the pattern, but consistency is low and the waves are rarely worth the effort.
