Best Surf Season (November - February)
For Dwarka, the winter months mark the sweet spot of the year. This is when the Arabian Sea settles down after the monsoon and long-period groundswell from the WSW/SW quadrant mixes with an offshore flow out of the NNE/NE. November stands out with ideal winds 54 percent of the time and an average swell period of 11.7 seconds, while December and January still deliver clean 2-3ft (0.7m) waves. Surf size is never huge, but the combination of groomed faces, lower humidity and dry skies makes these months the most dependable for catching fun, rippable waves at the main breaks.
Fair Surf Season (March - April and September - October)
These shoulder months are transitional. March still carries solid W/SW swell energy and a 10.2s period, but ideal wind drops to 16 percent as westerly and northwesterly breezes increase. April sees the swell direction become almost perfectly aligned with the coast, yet onshore winds from WSW/W hold quality down. In September the monsoon is still easing and waves remain big and stormy; by October the swell turns clean and long-period again as ideal wind climbs to 29 percent, but residual westerly wind can still keep the surface lumpy.
Low Surf Season (May - August)
The southwest monsoon dominates from May through August, and while swell heights pump from 4ft (1.2m) to well over 8ft (2.5m), the wind is almost always onshore from SSW/SW/WSW. Ideal conditions fall to between 0 and 1 percent during this stretch, meaning the beach becomes a churning, blown-out mix of heavy swell and strong onshore wind. Even the big 6-8ft (2-2.5m) SW groundswells of July and August are largely unsurfable for most, so this is a season for watching the ocean and staying out of the washing machine.
