Best Surf Season (April - May and September - October)

The Indian Ocean swell machine is in full swing during these windows, and at Nyang Nyang the alignment is about as good as it gets. Strong Southern Ocean low-pressure systems push long-period S, SSW and SW groundswell into the Bukit Peninsula while the wind field is still transitioning between the northwest monsoon and the southeast trades. The combination of 5-8ft (1.5-2.5m) swell, periods at or above 13-14 seconds, and the year's highest percentage of clean wind makes April, May, September and October prime time. You still need to pick your sessions, but the consistency is excellent and the beach more often has workable, lined-up surf.
