Best Surf Season (October - March)

The best surfing at Inamuragasaki arrives when the North Pacific storm track intensifies and the Siberian high-pressure system funnels cold offshore winds down the coast. From October through March, the beach consistently sees a mix of SSE, S, SSW and SW swell, with SW becoming especially dominant in December and January. While average wave heights are rarely huge - typically 0.7-0.8m (2.3-2.6ft) - the average periods of 8-9s and the high percentage of NNE, NE and N offshore winds make for clean, punchy, rideable surf. October is the standout month for wind, with near-65% offshore flow, while December and January deliver the most consistent southwest groundswell. This is the time to be in the lineup; conditions line up more often than any other part of the year.
