Best Surf Season (February - April)

Punta Chipehua is defined by balance. The beach pokes into the ENE quadrant, so the most direct, well-ordered surf arrives when north-eastern hemisphere groundswell fills in from the NE/ENE window and a SW/W offshore wind polishes each face. February through April is the sweet spot: the average wave period climbs from 11.3s to 13.7s, the ideal-wind window jumps from 28% in February to 46% in April, and the wave rose still retains a healthy slice of NNE/NE energy mixed with the building S/SSW groundswell. Combined with warm 26-29°C water and very little rain, this is the window to plan around.
