February: Still Firing, Still Blowing

February carries a very similar atmospheric stamp to January, but with the monsoon easing slightly. Average swell height drops to 1.5m and the period relaxes to 7.5s. The directional picture remains excellent for Badoc Island Lefts: NNE dominates at 52%, NE at 25%, with N and NNW adding another 9%, so more than 85% of the swell is from the usable northern window. The bulk of the surf falls between 0.5m and 1.5m (2-5ft), yet there is still a meaningful 1.5-2.5m (5-8ft) class near 27%. This is a more manageable winter swell than January, but still plenty of power for a barreling left.

Winds stay unfavorable for long stretches. ENE (24%), NE (20%) and NNE (10%) dominate, blowing straight onto the break, while E winds add another 11%. Ideal winds cover only 14% of the month, though this is a slight improvement over January. When a southerly or southwesterly breeze sets up, expect clean offshore-condition lefts at 3-6ft (1-1.8m).
