Best Surf Season (October - March)

At Oum El Bouir, the surf year is driven by the North Atlantic. From October through March, the mid-latitude storm track aims more long-period energy toward Western Sahara, and the beach finally receives the groundswell it needs. Average swell heights sit in the 4-6ft (1.2-1.8m) range, periods climb to 10-12s, and the often strong offshore NE trades are at their lightest and most workable. When the NAO dips negative, the storm track shifts southward and this stretch of African coastline gets even more consistent, powerful swell. This is the window for the best, most hollow beach break sessions of the year.
