The primary draw here is a series of left-hander point breaks that deliver long, playful rides, especially when swell nudges the 2-foot mark. Southwest swells are the bread and butter, with occasional southern pulses adding variety. Breaking over a forgiving sand bottom, the waves peel for up to 800 meters under ideal conditions, making it a prime destination for beginners and intermediates to stretch their legs. The magic happens during low to mid tide, with a southeast wind feathered across the lineup to keep things clean. While the outer section near the rocks can pitch up with a touch more power and steepness, the inside remains smoother and more manageable. Be mindful of increasing swell, which can rip through the channel and create sneaky currents. If you get swept, simply paddle or walk back around past the fish-drying racks to re-enter at the peak. Best Surf Season (May - August)

Cabo Ledo's most consistent swell window arrives with the Southern Hemisphere winter, when the low-pressure systems of the South Atlantic roar to life and fire long-period SSW/SW groundswell toward the Angolan coast. Average wave heights climb to 4ft (1.3m), periods stretch to a powerful 13 seconds, and the cooler Benguela Current keeps the air crisp while the offshore S/SSW/SW flow stays reliable. This is as good as it gets at this northwest-facing bay: not a deep-water open-ocean slab, but a fun, rippable, long-period wave that wraps around the headland and holds its shape. May through August are the pick months for consistent surf.
