Best Surf Season (April - September)

Jake's Point is at its best when the Southern Ocean storm track gets cranking through autumn and winter. From April through September, average swell periods climb from 11.5s to over 12s, and the swell direction tilts from south-heavy summer slop toward SW and WSW. These are the months with the highest percentage of offshore ENE-E-ESE-SE winds, particularly May through August, when ideal wind windows sit between 42 and 48%. That combination produces long-period, powerful groundswell wrapping into the WNW-facing beach, with clean, groomed faces and much more consistent quality.
