March through May is the sweet spot at Punta Banco. The average swell climbs from 2-3ft (0.8m) in March to 3-4ft (1.1m) in May, while the average wave period runs a powerful 13.6-14.1s. More importantly, ideal offshore wind scores are at their yearly peak, led by April's 21% and March's 18%. The SSW/SW swell corridor is virtually the only direction that matters, so the combination of long-period energy and a workable morning offshore breeze makes this the most consistent window for high-quality, rippable waves.
