Best Surf Season (December - March)

The Indonesian monsoon is the key player here. During these months the northwesterly monsoon flow regularly reaches the island, creating the offshore N, NNE, NE, NW and NNW winds that Inside Rights needs to stay clean. Average wave heights hold in the 5ft (1.5m) range, but the swell trains are long-period and powerful at 12-13 seconds, with a strong SSW-SW component that lines up well on the south-facing reef. February is the standout month, with ideal winds 42% of the time and a healthy mix of 3-6ft (1-2m) SSW-SW swell.
