The shifting sandbars create multiple peaks that respond to a variety of conditions, making it a go-to spot when the swell lines up. Serapo lights up best with a southeast swell, though northwest swells can also deliver rideable waves. The ideal range sits between 0.5 and 2 meters (2 to 6 feet), offering both lefts and rights that peel over a forgiving sandy bottom. Best Surf Season (November - February)

Serapo is a fickle Mediterranean beachbreak, but winter is when the Tyrrhenian Sea wakes up. Average wave heights climb to around 2-3ft (0.8m), periods reach 5.4-5.6s, and the offshore wind clock scores its best reliability of the year. This is driven by low-pressure systems forming in the Gulf of Genoa and a storm track pushed south by a negative phase of the NAO. These systems often swing southerly and southwesterly swell toward the Gulf of Gaeta before the wind veers into the northern quadrants, switching Serapo into its favourite offshore mode. November and December are especially strong, with ideal wind scores of 35 and 39 percent, and the rare larger swell in the 3-8ft (1-2.5m) range tends to show up during these months.
