While it lacks the reputation for consistently pumping waves, this right-hander can serve up fun, rideable sections when the stars align. Don’t come expecting pristine, sculpted walls; especially once the swell pushes shoulder-high or bigger, the wave quality can get a bit sloppy and disappointing. Ninja’s lights up on a south swell—southeast to south is the sweet spot—and can handle tiny pulses as small as one foot. When it’s on, the wave runs right over dead coral, offering a forgiving canvas for beginners working on their turns. The ideal breeze blows from the southwest, and the break works across low, mid, and high tides. Just be aware: the waves have a tendency to close out, so patience and good timing are essential for linking a longer ride. It’s a solid spot for those still finding their groove or looking to level up without the intimidation of a crowded, high-performance lineup. Best Surf Season (March - April & October - November)

The surf window at Ninjas/Piddlies is controlled by the battle between the northeast and southwest monsoons. The true sweet spots are the intermonsoon transition months, when offshore west/northwest wind clockwork (WSW-W-WNW-NW) begins to line up with swell energy arriving out of the eastern quadrant (ENE-E-ESE-SE). March and November offer the most balanced combination of usable east-angle swell and clean wind, while April and October add a higher percentage of ideal offshore breeze, albeit with the swell shifting toward the southeast. During these months, periods sit in the 7-8s range and average heights hover around 0.7-1.0m (2-3ft), making for punchy, rideable reef waves on the better days.
