This is a no-nonsense break that demands respect—a powerful, hard-breaking right-hander that throws a steep, unforgiving drop right from the takeoff. When a Southeast swell pulses in from 2 feet (0.6 meters) and up, the wave stands tall and hollow, offering a genuine barrel factor over a shallow reef. Southwest winds groom the face, and the break works across low, mid, and high tides, though be warned: as the tide drops, strong currents rip through the lineup, making this a playground for experts only. The surrounding scenery is stunning, with turquoise water and rugged coastline, but the vibe has shifted. Two new guesthouses have drawn more surfers to the area, so expect peak-season crowds—even with the remote access. You’ll need solid fitness, sharp instincts, and a quiver ready for a heavy drop to make the most of Coke’s. Best Surf Season (July - September)

The core of Coke's surf year arrives with the heart of the southwest monsoon. A broad monsoon trough aligned across the equatorial Indian Ocean and a mature Southern Ocean storm track combine to send consistent S/SSW groundswell toward the atolls. July marks the shift, August peaks with average periods near 8.9s and over half of the incoming swell in the ideal SSE-S-SSW quadrant, and September maintains solid southern energy as wind speeds begin to ease. Westerly winds still blow, but they are mostly cross-offshore/cross-shore at this SSE-facing reef, and when NW or NNW flow kicks in, Coke's produces some of the best, longest lefts of the year.
