August remains one of the most consistent surf months of the year at Puerto Madero. The average swell is 4.5ft (1.4m), average period is 13.5s, and 80.9% of the directional energy comes from the SSW, with SW adding 9.8% and S another 8.7%. The 3-5ft (1-1.5m) range dominates, but 21.1% of waves are 5-6.5ft (1.5-2m), and there is always the chance of a bigger pulse from East Pacific tropical cyclones. Ideal wind bumps to 54%, while the bad S/SSW/SW/WSW wind quadrant stays subdued at around 16%; the main afternoon issue is SE/ESE flow rather than a full-blown onshore blow. Rainfall is soaked into the daily routine at 10.93 mm/day, air temperature averages 28.3°C with a range of 24.8-32.3°C, and water temperature is a warm 30.9°C.
