The dominant WNW, NW, and W swell directions are exactly what this beach responds to, and the increased frequency of offshore ENE-E-ESE-SE winds during winter creates the most consistent high-quality sessions of the year. December and January are the peak months, especially when a negative North Atlantic Oscillation pattern steers low pressure closer to Portugal.
