Today's Surf Conditions at Larido
Best Surf Season & Climatology
Best Surf Season (October - March)
Larido's west-south-west aspect lines up almost perfectly with the Atlantic's winter swell conveyor belt. From October through March, the average wave height ranges from 1.3m (4ft) in October up to 1.8m (6ft) in January, and average periods are consistently in the powerful 10-13s range. This is when extratropical low-pressure systems rumbling across the North Atlantic pump serious groundswell into the coast. The biggest, cleanest days occur when a healthy W, WSW or SW swell coincides with offshore NNE/NE/ENE winds - a setup that high pressure over Spain frequently delivers. Expect the best quality surf in these months.
