Westerly swell leads the charge at 37.5%, with WSW at 15.2% and WNW at 12.7% - a mix that still keeps the reef well exposed while tapping into more south-of-west energy generated by early-season lows. Heights in the 1.5-2.5m (5-8ft) range become much more common, and every passing Atlantic depression threatens to light up the reef. Ideal wind occurs a solid 25% of the time, often under slow-moving autumn highs, creating those crisp offshore mornings with sunny skies and clean lines. Air temperature averages 13.1°C, precipitation rises to 3.70 mm/day, and water temperature is a comfortable 14.9°C.
