Just a short trike ride north of the main village, Boulevard offers a lively beachbreak session within earshot of the disco thump. While consistency can be elusive, when the stars align—namely a solid, sizable swell—this cove-protected setup, shielded further by offshore islets, dishes out genuinely fun waves. It’s a spot that rewards patience and a keen eye on the forecast. Boulevard primarily lights up with northeast swell, though it can also handle north and east pulses. It’s capable of registering waves as small as 1 foot (0.3 m), but it really needs a decent push to overcome its natural shelter. The beachbreak peels both left and right, making it approachable for all levels, with beginners finding plenty of forgiving sections. Tide isn’t overly picky—low, mid, and high all produce waves, though a little local knowledge on the shifting sandbars helps. Southwest wind is your friend, grooming the surface into clean lines. One insider tip: when a big northeast swell slams the coast, keep an eye on the river mouth to the north. There, the current can sculpt faster, more hollow rights that add a dash of punch to the lineup. So check the buoy, read the wind, and you might just find your groove—and a good time—at Boulevard.

Best Surf Season (August - October)

The southwest monsoon, or Habagat, becomes Boulevard's best friend in late summer. This is the window when the monsoon trough pushes persistent offshore flow from the WSW, W and WNW across the east-facing beach, while the tail end of the easterly trade-wind swell and early typhoon pulses in the Philippine Sea send clean 2-4ft (0.6-1.2m) waves with periods climbing from 9.7s to 10.3s. Ideal wind frequencies peak at 57-59% in August and September, and October adds a bit more size as the northeast monsoon starts to stir. The result is the most consistent mix of groomed, rippable surf and manageable wave heights all year.
