Flagler Avenue delivers a remarkably consistent beach break, peeling over a sandy bottom with both lefts and rights on offer. The prime real estate for the best waves is almost always dead in front of the lifeguard tower—a reliable focal point where sandbars tend to set up and offshore winds groom the lineups with precision.

Best Surf Season (October - March)

Flagler Avenue's most consistent swell window runs from October through March. The Atlantic storm track pushes south, and cold fronts and nor'easters routinely pump NE and E swell into the beach's ENE-facing exposure. Average wave heights climb to 4-5ft (1.2-1.5m), with periods in the 8-8.5s range - punchy, rideable, and occasionally powerful. The best days come in the wake of cold fronts, when the wind swings to the W/SW and turns the ocean to glass. When the NAO trends negative, the East Coast storm track often intensifies, and Flagler's swell window lights up even more.
