Best Surf Season (February - April)

As the autumn months set in along the Peruvian coast, Senoritas finds its most complete blend of size, period, and wind. The South Pacific storm track is waking up, sending consistent SSW and SW groundswell averaging 1.5-1.7m (5-6ft) at 13-14 second intervals. More importantly, the percentage of truly offshore wind days reaches its yearly peak - up to 12 percent in March - giving this west-southwest-facing spot a chance to groom those long-period lines into clean, reeling walls. The Humboldt Current keeps water temperatures in the cool but manageable 17-20°C range, and rainfall is essentially negligible. This is the window where swell and wind finally align, and Senoritas turns from a bumpy winter mess into a proper long-period point machine.

Fair Surf Season (May - August)

The heart of the austral winter brings the biggest, most powerful swell of the year, with average wave heights climbing to 1.9m (6ft) and periods holding in the 12.8-13.6 second range. Storms roaring through the mid-latitudes of the South Pacific are firing on all cylinders, and Senoritas absorbs every bit of that energy. However, the South Pacific high pressure cell strengthens during these months too, locking in a persistent S, SSW, and SW flow that is largely onshore or cross-onshore for a WSW-facing beach. The ideal offshore wind window shrinks to just 2-5 percent, so the ocean is often bumpy and choppy even when the swell is pumping. Sharp-eyed locals wait for predawn E/NE land breezes or a temporary relaxation of the coastal pressure gradient - those are the moments when the fair season turns seriously good.

Low Surf Season (September - January)

Spring and early summer see the South Pacific storm machine ease back, and average wave heights drop into the 1.4-1.8m (4-6ft) range. The swell that does arrive remains long-period and surprisingly powerful, but the wind outlook is grim: ideal offshore wind frequencies fall to just 1-4 percent. Persistent S, SSW, and SW winds dominate the coast, leaving the exposed WSW banks textured and lumpy. Occasional late-season groundswell, especially in October and November, can still throw up overhead sets, but consistency and overall quality take a clear hit. January remains the most promising month within this low season thanks to a slightly better offshore wind window, but for reliable, clean conditions at Senoritas, the calendar says autumn is king.
