March: Last Gasp of Winter Groundswell

March marks the final full month where Wishing Well's average surf height remains at 5ft (1.5m) and the period at 10.0 seconds. The swell source is still primarily NE/ENE: NE leads with 33 percent, ENE 23 percent, and NNE 24 percent, while N adds 6.5 percent. The height distribution is slightly cleaner than January, with 46 percent at 1-1.5m (3-5ft) and 28 percent at 1.5-2m (5-6.5ft); the percentage of 2m-plus waves backs off to about 9 percent. The wind regime gets a bit lighter: ENE drops to 31 percent, E holds at 22 percent, and ideal wind improves to 46 percent. This subtle trade-wind relaxation makes March often the most user-friendly of the high season - same size and period as February but with a higher chance of glassy offshore morning conditions. Air temps start to creep upward to 25.3°C average (20-32°C), water temperature stays warm at 26.4°C, and precipitation remains around 2.1mm/day. As the North Atlantic storm track weakens toward month's end, the window of true long-period groundswell starts to close.
